 There are three titles displayed during the opening sequence to the film. They are the film title, the name of the editor and the producer. The connotation these images carry is the connotation of uncomfortability. The genre is reinforced through the showings of a figure screaming in the dark and a scary event happening and the dimming lights . The conventions used to appeal to the audience are a panning shot and the Diegetic sound of creaking doors.

The conventions used to appeal to the audience are a zooming shot and the diegetic sound of hospital equipment and physical conflict.
