How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?  There have been people recently who have opposed mask wearing and thought that it does more harm than it is worth which I do not personally agree with, so I wanted my commercial to address that wearing a mask is important. 2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?  My product relates to an event currently going on in the world so I felt like that it would be relatable to the audience and could encourage them to learn the importance of masks and I feel that it can be distributed in ways such as a TV advertisement or a news broadcast. 3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?  I went from having no video editing skills to being able to do a few things. I learned about how to use and optimize a green screen.                                                          My commercial This was my first major project that I worked on. Looking back at my project, there was room for a lot of improvement. However, it is great because now I have improved greatly with things such as video editing. Before doing this project I never really had a need to record anything so I never got used to it and it felt weird doing it. Now I feel a lot more comfortable doing it it and it was a little fun to do. It also has taught me to do things on time and that turning things in early is not a bad idea. I also had to learn time management and that things will not always go in my favor so I had to have backup plans. This may have been one of the most stressful projects I have ever done however it was fun to actually go outside and move around instead of staying home all day. Aside for a few slip ups here and there and me being a little irresponsible I had some fun doing this project. Overall I think it was a great exp

                                                                                                 AICE Media Studies another day to edit Came back to edit and some things went better than before.Everything was put in order already so I did not have to do that again. I noticed some things that I did yesterday that I was not ok with and made those changes.This included cutting even more things out, and adding things yet again.Some scenes felt incomplete and I did not know how to fix it.I do not know if I cut too much or maybe recorded a bit too little but it felt off in some way.Once I got back on my phone to start editing I made sure of one thing before continuing. The scene where I  had to duplicate heads was one where I kept checking before I even started the other scenes. It did give me a little less time to work on the other scenes but it never left my mind because I felt this scene required the most editing. Last time I edited I felt like there were scenes I needed to do.This time I

                                                         AICE Media Studies Editing Blog Once all the scenes were done right I just had to put them in order and put in any finishing touches. This includes putting things in order, cutting things out, and adding things in.Some scenes felt too long and unnecessary and some scenes felt a little lifeless so they were cut out.To begin with, The editing was done on my phone.Once I started editing I immediately thought of one scene where the editing was crucial which was scene 4. The scene where I needed multiple people only seemed to work if I duplicated myself which is why editing was especially important from this scene. It did give me the ability to make some cuts which shortened the length of the commercial. There were also scenes I felt I needed to redo but it was too late for that so I had to deal with what I had. Fortunately there was something I was able to redo. The voices were better when I redid them as I was closer to a microphone

First Scene- During this scene I will be filming 2 people bumping into each other with one of them being sick. The shot will try to be somewhat close-up. The location is outside a neighborhood. I wanted to talk about health safety and since there is a whole thing going on with the world right now I thought to make it about masks. Second Scene-  The next scene will have germs spreading from one person to another. I have an edited background to try to show it kind of jumping from one person to another.There is also a label which is a green colored piece of paper with the word germ on it.  Third Scene- The third scene was originally gonna be at a park but since I was not able to manage that it was filmed outside my house on a table with duplicated versions of me to represent friends. Fourth Scene- The Fourth scene will be of a bunch of people in the world sick and not knowing what to do.The whole screen will be covered with my face basically Fifth Scene- The fifth scene will have the DPC(

                                                                                                    AICE Mediastudies Another Day of filming  On Tuesday the 5th, I went back to filming. Again since I was alone it was more convenient for me as I was going on my own schedule. As the only person working on it I had costumes to show the different characters. There was a problem when I did however. I tried to pick a place where the weather was good however it was raining. The vehicles did not make the situation any better and the fact that I did not have an umbrella. A lot of things got wet such as my phone to record and my clothing. The hangout scene I wanted worked at its best during a sunny day however this weather ruined my plans. In the end I could not use the park I wanted for my hangout scene. So I had to go and film at home. This time it felt even more weird talking to nobody cause my entire family was not too far away from me and could probably hear everything I say.They probably t

                                               AICE Media Studies Filming Blog On Thursday the 30th, I started filming.Since it was just me it was more convenient since I can go whenever I have free time instead of needing multiple people in a group to be free.As the sole person working on it I had costumes to represent certain characters.I tried to talk very loud so my voice does not come out bad.I tried to pick a place outside that was not too busy but there was a lot of cars so I had to improvise and pick a different place.The passing cars and airplanes by the park were pretty annoying so I had to improvise and film somewhere else.There were times where my performance felt lackluster and I also felt my style of clothing could have been a lot more casual to fit certain scenes.I tried to film in the morning so the sun could be out cause I felt it was more appropriate especially since in one of the scenes I needed a hangout spot.  AICE Media Studies Planning Blog Props Since I have decided to produce a commercial on masks, the main prop was a mask. Other props included a bag and an empty bottle. Costumes In my commercial, I had to play the role of a casual person in their average day to day life therefore I just wore a shirt and some shorts. In a different role I had to act as a germ so I got a piece of paper and colored it green for the germ.I would wear a a shirt over my head in order to symbolize longer hair. If I had no clean shirts left for the part, I had a black colored sheet of paper.                                                AICE Media Studies Group Blog For this project I will be working by myself. This decision was mostly because I do not know anyone well and have not made a friend yet at this school. At first I considered it a downside.With a group we could split up the work and would require me to do less and focus on other things simultaneously. As a result of being alone it would cause me to have to do a lot of things on my own and getting adjusted to with certain tasks. I feel like the most challenging part of this project especially with going solo would have to be the filming. The rest of the project definitely will not be a joke as I am gonna have to learn how to video edit and actually start video editing despite me having never done it before. However while being alone had a lot of downsides it had upsides as well. Working alone means I do not have to worry about if someone does not do their part. As the sole member I can do whatever job necessary
